We invite you to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Frank Maness, whose dedication to dentistry and service has left a lasting impact across North Carolina. Through the NCDS Foundation Tribute Garden, you have the opportunity to celebrate Dr. Maness’s contributions while supporting the next generation of care.
In early March 2026, former NC Services for Dentistry board member, Dr. Maness passed away after a valiant fight with interstitial lung disease. Dr. Maness and his wife, Dr. Nona Breeland have been active members of the NC Dental Society for over 40 years each, as students, practioners, and retirees. Dr. Maness practiced in Raleigh since 1980. He also served as a volunteer dentist for numerous Missions of Mercy free dental clinics across North Carolina and was deeply connected to organized dentistry.
Dr. Maness was committed to exceptional oral health care and serving our underserved populations. He was named a Fellow by several organizations including the Academy of General Dentistry, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the Academy of Dentistry International, the International College of Dentists, and the American College of Dentists.
